Frequently Asked Questions

Effectiveness

For how long am I protected from odor?

We don’t like making definitive claims on this (due to the expense of third-party testing, and since every body is a little bit different). However, we and all of our beta testers have experienced over 24 hours of odor protection after a single application.

Will Rayn stain my clothes or discolor my shirts?

We recommend letting Rayn dry thoroughly before putting on your clothes. There should be no staining or discoloration of clothing after it dries. If some liquid does get on your clothes, though, you may see some white spotting, but don’t worry! It should rinse clean with just water! Rayn isn’t sticky, and it doesn’t discolor clothing or leave clothes smelling like you or your deodorant.

How long will one bottle last?

Each container holds 60 grams of deodorant, which may last up to 2 months (or more), depending upon the person.

Help! My roller ball seems to be stuck and not enough deodorant is coming out. What do I do?

Uh oh! This shouldn’t happen. Please contact us, and we’ll see what we can do to make it right.

The Scent of Rayn

Are your scents natural?

Yes! We use aromatic extract blends, which are a simple and natural way to add a scent. An aromatic extract is physically extracted from a single genus and species of a plant through pressing, macerating, or soaking, and without the use of harsh chemicals or complex processing.

What's an "aromatic extract"?

An aromatic extract is a compound that is physically extracted from multiple parts of the same plant to form a well balanced, natural aroma. By contrast, a “natural fragrance” is derived from different plants to form a desired fragrance, and can be composed of many different, undisclosed “natural” compounds. We’re committed to avoiding undisclosed ingredients, so Rayn will never include “natural fragrances”.

Safety of the Rayn Formula

What type of testing did you do to make sure it's safe?

We have performed the RIPT (Repeat Insult Patch Test) through AMA Laboratories, which is a six-week test to determine the potential for irritation and any other effects on skin due to constant contact (which is more extreme than the intended usage). We have also performed enrichment testing and rapid screening testing through Microconsult, Inc. to test against various pathogens, molds, yeasts, etc., which might contaminate the product during everyday usage.

How clean is your creation process?

It’s very clean! We worked with a microbiology testing lab to make sure our process is as bacteria-free as possible.

In the past, I've had problems with some products that sting freshly-shaven skin. Is this safe to put on my skin after shaving?

We have tested the formula at different stages to determine whether it stings freshly-shaven skin. The current formula has not produced any stinging in our beta testers when used after shaving. If you have particularly sensitive skin or notice any stinging, we advise you to wait a short while after shaving before applying Rayn. (In our previous testing, any stinging was attributed to the magnesium chloride addition, since it is a salt).
